“Um actually I believe I ordered the medium paella; I think this might be the large.”
DC Celeb-Chef Jose Andres cooking the biggest paella I’ve ever seen in my life (the spoon might as well have been a broom) this weekend at the Dupont Farmers’ Market.

So, my friends and I had dinner at Banana Leaves in DC a few weeks ago, and I snapped this picture. A few hours later, there was a huge fire there and Banana Leaves has been closed since. My thoughts:
1) It wasn’t our fault.
2) This is quite possibly the last photo taken at the restaurant before it burned down.
3) Come back soon, Banana Leaves!

My roommate and I having Indian food for just the second time since we spent 3 months there in Summer, 2009.  We survived!  (Oh, and then we got amazing milkshakes).

Amazing homemade lasagna.  I can’t take any credit for it though; I just took the picture (somehow the girls still think that’s a fair trade.  I won’t say anything though — I’ll just keep trading pics 4 food).

Making Two Huge Leaps

Within 24 hours I made two pretty big leaps: one metaphorical, one quite literal.

On Friday I made the commitment to leave my full-time job to focus all of my energy on StartSomeGood. The next morning, I was 11,000 feet in the air jumping out of a plane, my first time ever skydiving. Read More

Hiking Ulriken in Bergen, Norway

Though there’s a cable car that takes you to the top of Ulriken, the tallest of seven mountains surrounding Bergen, my friend and I decided to hike up to the peak. It was one of the best decisions of our trip. Read More

Burps, Bathrooms and Sunsets

Everyone says that to experience humanity, you’ve got to ride an Indian train. Well, now I can say that I have — and I have lived to tell about it. Read More
