When I told my Intellectual Property professor of my trip to Rajasthan, he smiled, and gently mocked me for going to the hottest part of India at about the hottest time of the year. That said, we were eager to see all that we could — even in the middday heat — and we quickly headed to our first spot in Rajasthan: Junagarh Fort.
Unlike most forts in Rajasthan, it was not built up on a hill. That makes it all the more impressive that, although it was attacked, it was never conquered despite being in existence since 1593. The fort features an interesting combination of British and Indian influences, and has one of the more impressive rooms I’ve ever been in: the Anup Mahal, which features a red throne completed shrouded by colors, reflective beads, and metallic surfaces.
