A Columbia Religion Professor shares his thoughts on how to reform American Higher Education. It’s a fascinating read, and I really do wish that some of his reforms were put into place. Especially his first point “abolish permanent departments,” and instead focus on larger multi-discipline issues such as “Mind,” “Networks,” or “Water.” His other reforms: Increase collaboration among institutions, Transform the traditional dissertation, and abolish tenure.
