The Metro Ride to Challenge Our Sanity
The crowd for the Rally to Restore Sanity / Fear was insane yesterday, which made getting down to the mall far more of a challenge than I had expected. – Just one brilliant thought amid many, many more in Phillip Su’s open letter upon leaving Microsoft for Facebook.  Take a few minutes to go read it; it’s worth it.

In Praise of University of Texas Fans
I have never been to a road game as a UCLA fan where I met classier fans than at the University of Texas.  Perhaps I’ve become jaded by going to too many USC games where we’ve had stuff — both physical items and ugly slurs — thrown our way, but my friends and I were absolutely blown away by how wonderful the UT fans were. Gordough's Donuts, Austin Texas
Gordough’s in Austin makes the best donuts I’ve ever had in my life.   Served out of a shiny, futuristic-looking truck, we took a good amount of time studying their gluttonous menu (this is not a place where you’ll find a simple glazed donut). Options include the Baby Rattler (fudge, oreos and gummy snakes), and the Mother Clucker (fried chicken strips and honey butter)....
