I had forgotten how great California is, but I’ve quickly been reminded.

WatchWatch
Cool video showing how this New Yorker cover illustration was done entirely on an iPhone!  I love the creator’s comment that he “likes the fact that I am drawing with a set of tools that anybody can have easily in their pocket.”

Denmark, District of Columbia
I’m working in the lobby of the Renaissance hotel, and am currently surrounded by about 50 middle-aged Danish women here for some conference.  Do you think they realize I’m not one of them? (Just to be clear: I am not in Denmark, in which case this wouldn’t be nearly as strange).

Supreme Court Diversity
While I support Obama’s recent nominee to the Supreme Court, I still think there is one significant aspect of diversity on the courts that is being overlooked: there is not a single member of the court who comes from a Public University.  Shouldn’t our court have a representative of one of our great public institutions? You can read more about the diversity (or lack thereof) in this...

NY Pizza
Yesterday, besides cereal for breakfast, my meals were: Lunch: Salad and pizza. Dinner: Salad and pizza. I love NY.

Tweeting Too Hard (Click to view) →
This site is AMAZING.  I’m pretty much over Twitter at this point, and this site is a good example of why.  It finally provides a platform to mock the people that post their overly self-important tweets, and, in Digg-like fashion, allows people to vote or “back pat” the most over-the-top.  Some of my favorites: @serafinowicz: went to the gym this morning. As I left, everyone...

I picked up my anti-malarial medication today.  I went with the slightly more expensive one, given that the others cause either hallucinations or increased sensitivity to sun (probably not a good idea in 110 degree weather).  The one I went with only has one side effect: an upset stomach, but let’s be honest: I’ll be eating Indian food 3 meals per day — I don’t think I will...

2009 Washington Post Hunt
This is the craziest scavenger hunt I’ve ever done.  Our team got 4/5 of the first part correct, before getting a bit mislead on the “endgame,” which I would say is pretty good.  Check out the video to see the level of ridiculousness this hunt entailed! And, some photos: Awaiting the first set of clues Totally makes sense, right? The “Clock guy” from Vienna! A fake...

U$C gave money to OJ Mayo →
The only thing surprising about this is 1) how long it’s taken to report this, and 2) that Yahoo! sports is the only one investigating this.  Where has the NCAA been?  In case you need a reminder of the ways in which U$C has acted illegally, unethically, or improperly, check out this list, detailing its transgressions.
